Affiliates Bidding on Paid Search For Your Keywords -- Do You Think This Is a Bad Thing

I have a general question that has been asked time and time again. Do you think having affiliates bid on your branded keywords is a bad thing? If you are a SunBasket or a Chewy, I can see this as being a problem. But, if you are a small ecommerce company that does pretty well in search, I can see this as having your affiliates work for you.

We have a website where some of our competitors are lambasting our products in reviews. They then bid on our keywords and drive traffic to these negative review pages. I've noticed that our affiliates also bid on these keywords, too and their ads are pretty great. In fact, our affiliate sales could be improving because of this. I see it as a dollar being spent by someone else that we don't have to spend , or at least spend until our affiliates make a sale.

Thoughts?
