How can you create original content when you have little resources and know almost nothing about the niche which sounds interesting to you ?

I was wondering how you can write so you don't look like scraping/rewriting the articles from other blogs? The idea is that is I want to get into a niche that sounds interesting to me (like let's say bathroom related products) and find many products to review. The bad part is at when you start you can't possibly buy all the accessories and stuff to test them and make a comprehensive review or best ... lists. So this makes me ask how do you research and write content so that it is original in Google's eyes even though you don't own the product and there are several sites reviewing similar products?

What do you think? What kind of resources/ideas do you have?
